Laser Tattoo Removal

Getting Rid of Your Unwanted Tattoos

Laser Tattoo Removal uses pulses of light that are emitted onto your tattoo and surrounding pigment. The laser light attacks and breaks down the ink causing your immune system to naturally absorb what’s left. Laser tattoo removal is ideal for those who have a tattoo they regret or simply want removing as it’s a largely pain-free and effective method.

Our expert practitioners have over 3+ years experience (on average) removing tattoos and work with the very latest and safest laser technology. Our investment in this technology helps protect our patients and improves the chances of success. We offer a bespoke and free consultation with the practitioner in advance to inspect the tattoo as well as undertake a patch test (to test a small area of skin in order ensure you’re suitable for the treatment without any adverse side effects).

Our advanced laser tattoo removal technology treats all skin colours and styles including caucasian, asian, oriental, black Caribbean, Mediterranean and African skin tones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Laser Tattoo Removal safe?

Yes. Skin clinic uses medical-grade lasers controlled by experienced and highly-trained practitioners. We undertake a free patch test to check for any adverse side effects in advance of full treatment. Some patients do experience short-term side effects (as you might do with tattooing) including blistering, scabbing, swelling, itching or a prickly sensation.

Can tattoos be removed in one session?

No. It isn’t safe to expose your skin to the required level of light to remove the tattoo. Generally, if the tattoo is homemade it may only require 3-4 sessions as the ink has likely not been absorbed into the skin deeply. Professional tattoos (using a tattoo gun) are likely to require anywhere from 4-10 sessions (depending on the area of skin and size of tattoo).

Is Laser Tattoo Removal painful?

Most clients experience medium to high pain as Laser Tattoo Removal is one of the most painful aesthetic treatments but it is worth the results in the end. We have a state of the art, Zimmer cooling system to cool the skin during the treatment and give you some extra comfort. Your skin may be sensitive and perhaps red for a few hours following the session so we would advise a cold/icy compress to reduce this.

Does tattoo removal leave scars?

Unless you already have an existing scar, are prone to scarring or keloids, or are not following your aftercare, laser tattoo removal will generally not cause scarring as long as the treatment is on a low setting and you give the skin enough time to heal between sessions.

Are older tattoos easier to remove?

In general, older tattoos take fewer sessions to remove than a new tattoo. Darker inks are easier to remove than lighter inks with black ink being easiest to remove.
